After graduating from high school, it didn't take long for owner, Timothy Brennan, to realize he belonged in a trade. Luckily, he had a friend with a plastering company that was able to give him a job. In a matter of two short years, Tim went from washing buckets to the foreman. After a year and a half with the company, Tim went on to start his own business at just twenty-two years old. Equipped with a $350 van and a small crew of his own, he took on his first project at a Condo in Chatham. Fast forward about four years, and Blueboard Specialists was taking in roughly one million in revenue a year.
Throughout the years to come, Tim managed to overcome the economic wave and build a solid business. Looking back, he attributes this to a few major factors. Most importantly, Tim wasn't afraid of a hard days work and would never ask someone to do something he wouldn't do. He understood that keeping his employees and subcontractors happy was top priority and the foundation for a successful business. Also, Tim doesn't discriminate against the type of work. Whether it be a high end job or small patchwork job, in a residence, an office, a bank, a restaurant, or a school....he does it all. His motto is that experience is the best teacher, so he's willing to take on almost anything. Lastly, Tim believes the best part of business is when people say, "Nice job, thank you, here's a check"! |
